Laura Heller is a Forbes Contributor. She has been reporting on mass-market retail trends and initiatives since 1995 as a journalist with B2B magazines, business outlets and websites including Forbes and The Week. Laura is the host of the High-Tech Retailing Summit at the International CES, and most recently served as Editor of Retail Dive and Fierce Retail. She has appeared on national TV and radio programs discussing retail trends including CNBC, ABC News Now and National Public Radio. Her blog, “The Point of Purchase,” appears on Forbes.com.


David Weiss, McMillan Doolittle

David Weiss is a partner at McMillanDoolittle, a strategic retail consulting firm, where he focuses on retail innovation and disruption. Prior to joining McMillanDoolittle in 2017, David was a retail executive for nearly twenty years. David has worked for multi-billion dollar global companies, venture-funded start-ups and private-equity owned turnarounds. David held merchandising and operational positions at Old Navy, Levi Strauss, Abercrombie & Fitch, Gap, JCPenney, and Monica + Andy.  His experience spans across multiple channels both globally and in the USA; direct-to-consumer, specialty retail, wholesale, and department store. Rooted in the fundamentals of merchandising, David has a deep expertise in retail positioning & compelling customer experiences. David has a B.A. from Harvard University and an MBA in Marketing & Entrepreneurship from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

Leen Nsouli

Leen Nsouli, Industry Analyst, The NPD Group

Leen Nsouli is the industry analyst for The NPD Group’s Office Supplies and Home Improvement divisions. Since joining NPD in 2013, Leen has been focused on providing manufacturer and retail clients with sales and marketing insights, and category management solutions utilizing NPD’s portfolio of data assets. Driven by client collaboration and the ability to translate information into accelerated growth in a brand’s strategic areas of operation, Leen also has a passion for understanding key macro and economic indicators that drive consumer behavior and retail marketplace trends.


Paul Lin, DrillSpot

Paul Lin is the founder and chief executive officer of Drill Spot, LLC, an ecommerce company specializing in industrial and hardware supplies for professionals. Since inception, Drill Spot has generated over $100M in sales on Amazon.com. Due to the success of his startup, in 2010 Mr. Lin was named one of Inc. Magazine’s Top 10 Asian Entrepreneurs. Mr. Lin also serves on the Board of Directors and is the IT Chairman for RBB Bancorp, a NASDAQ traded community bank with over $2B in assets. Mr. Lin attended the University of Colorado in Boulder and studied Information Systems. In his spare time, he designs technology products and currently has ten issued design patents.


Charlene Casey, Rakuten Super Logistics

Charli is a Senior Sales Consultant with Rakuten Super Logistics. Charli brings over 30 years of experience in C-Level management to the world of eCommerce Logistics. Her experience leading staff in the accurate and efficient management of legal records for a prominent Beverly Hills law firm gives her a unique perspective into the eCommerce and Logistics world. Charli looks at all angles of a problem to determine the optimum outcome. Charli led a scholarship foundation which supported girls in underserved communities in Los Angeles, California which provided renewable scholarships if the girls ‘finished in four’ with a 3.0 or better gpa. She proudly boasts that over 40 young scholars have gone through the program.

On her site, you’ll find detailed do-it-yourself tutorials ranging from complete bathroom remodels to small organizational hacks. The DIY Playbook has millions of readers all over the world and was named “Best DIY Blog” by Domino Magazine. She has also been featured in a wide range of media including the New York Times, Better Homes and Gardens, Apartment Therapy, Martha Stewart, as well as on television and radio.

Michael Finn

Michael Finn works as a Corporate Strategy Manager for a data security company in Chicago, specializing in finance and business analytics. He also serves as the CFO for The DIY Playbook managing the business operations. Michael’s experience in developing business strategies, as well as understanding how to drive value from analytics, have served him well in both careers and continues to be his passion regardless of the venture.

Scott Sinclair, Director of eCommerce, Onestone

Scott Sinclair is a Director of Ecommerce at OneStone – a multi-platform ecommerce agency. Scott leads the business development team and consults brands on strategic measures they can take to turn ecommerce into a competitive advantage. Matt Woods

Matt Woods, COO, Woods Hardware Store

Matt Woods, MBA, Chief Operating Officer for Woods Hardware, a Cincinnati-area True Value-affiliated dealer with six locations was launched in 2007. He currently leads the day-to-day operations for the retail hardware business. There are three divisions with nearly 70 employees. The Locksmith and Door Supply business was founded in 1933. Woods Hardware was the winner of the 2018 Reimagine Retail National Hardware Show ward recognizing re-inventive, innovative vision and execution by independent home improvement retailers. Woods Hardware invested the $100,000 Reimagine Retail award money in a 3D e-commerce experience. Woods Hardware’s new ecommerce website includes a virtual tour of each of its locations and allows customers to virtually walk through the aisles of all of the Woods Hardware stores, click on an item and have it delivered the same day.

Asa Farquhar

Asa Farquhar is the Category Manager of Home Improvement for Spreetail.com and VM Express. His areas of responsibly include, Tools, Hardware, Plumbing and Electrical, and Automotive. His team is responsible for vendor relationships, new vendor onboarding, promotions, .COM assortment, and marketplace strategies. Asa has a long buying career in many categories in both physical retail, ecommerce, and distribution. Asa has been with Spreetail for nearly 2 years and graduated from Doane University with a Bachelor of Science in Economics and Business Administration.

Elizabeth Ragone

Elizabeth Ragone, Digital Consumer Leader, Direct-To-Consumer General Manager, Boscov’s

Elizabeth Ragone began her career in Digital Merchandising in 1998 when no one knew really what Digital Merchandising was. As Head Merchant of landsend.com, she grew the E-commerce business to $450M, and then co-founded Fair Indigo, a multi-channel start-up featuring organic and fair trade apparel and home goods. She has worked with brands such as Ann Taylor, Chico’s, FAS, HSNi and is now with Lenox shaping a Digital landscape that lends commerce, community and content into a whole new customer experience.

Sonya Ruff Jarvis, Founder, eRetailer Summit, Managing Member of Jarvis Consultants, Founder / President of JC Event Group

Sonya Ruff Jarvis, is the Managing Member of Jarvis Consultants and the Founder of the eRetailer Summit and JC Event Group. Sonya has spent most of her career visiting headquarters across global industries.  An expert in the field, Sonya has been published in numerous retail industry b-to-b publications. Sonya shares her experiences in her book Mindful Minutes: A Marketer’s Journey Through Business the first in a series. Sonya has a M.B.A. in Marketing. She is married and has a daughter and they live in Fairfield County Connecticut.
